A 15th Century Pewter Stoup

This pewter Stoup for holding Holy Water of diminutive proportions was most likely used for travelling worship. The iconography depicts the Virgin Mary and Child surrounded by a decorative arched border affixed to a pewter bowl below. This is a rare example with the iconography similar to that found on pilgrims badges of the same age.
